International Award Winners Push for Excellence in Information
FreePint Report Authors Recognised for Outstanding Contributions to Industry

The third annual International Information Industry Awards recognised outstanding achievements by organisations and individuals in the information industry. Two FreePint Report authors were among the 18 recipients of awards honouring achievement, innovation and excellence.

Steve Wood, author of "Information Auditing: A Guide for Managers" (November 2004) and "Complying with Freedom of Information Legislation: A Guide for Practitioners" (April 2005), received the award for Best Implementation of a Business Blog for his Freedom of Information Blog (http://foia.blogspot.com/). Steve is a Senior Lecturer in Information Management at the School of Business Information, Liverpool John Moores University and has been a FreePint contributor since 2001.

Martin White, author of "The Enterprise Search Guidebook" (September 2005), received the Lifetime Achievement award, honouring his 30 years of dedication, leadership and innovation in the information industry. As Managing Director of Intranet Focus Limited (http://www.intranetfocus.com/), Martin specialises in intranet strategy development and the specification and selection of content management software applications.
