Free Pint Limited Announces FUMSI Citation for Most Useful Article
Nominations now being accepted online at http://www.freepint.com/events/online-info-2007/citation/
Free Pint Limited announces a new award programme to recognise the
excellence of authors who contribute practical articles about
information work to our twice-monthly newsletter. The FUMSI Citation
for Most Useful Article invites its 70,000+ readers to nominate the
FreePint article that has been most useful to them, by telling us how
the article has impacted their work. Our editorial team will review
the citations and select a winner. The authors of both the article and
the winning citation will be recognised at Free Pint Limited's stand
at Online Information and receive an award.
The new award programme brings together two elements of FreePint: 2007
marks the 10th publishing anniversary of the FreePint Newsletter. Over
the years, we've been honoured to publish some of the most practical
and forward-thinking articles on information work, generously provided
by contributors. This year has also been marked by the development of
FUMSI -- Find, Use, Manage and Share Information -- our initiative to
recharacterise information work according to how professionals
interact with information.
'Our focus is on the practical', notes Monique Cuvelier, editor of
FreePint. 'The FreePint Newsletter uniquely helps practitioners
interact with information more effectively on a day-to-day basis.
FUMSI helps us drill down even more specifically to the kind of work
our readers do -- or want to do. The FUMSI Citation enables us to
honour the generosity, expertise and innovation of our contributors
and readers.'
